Speedway Slot Car Racing Rules 2026

Race Rules

SPECIFICATIONS UPDATED AUGUST 1, 2026

    1. Car tech will be per the established car specifications.
    2. Tech will begin 30 minutes prior to race time and close 10 minutes before race time.
    3. Tech Director will be assigned by the Race Director.
    4. If the Tech Director is racing, another participant will tech the Tech Director’s car.
    5. Cars will be impounded after tech.
    6. The Tech Director will place cars on the assigned lane.
    7. Drivers will place lane stickers on the cars without moving them for the track.
    8. In case of 10 or less entries, lanes will be assigned randomly by the system with sit outs.
    9. In case of 11 or more entries, two races will be ran with the Race Director selecting the method of drawing or qualifying to decide entries.
    10. The parts and repair area will be closed during the race.
    11. Each participant will be responsible for setting up and maintaining their pit area.
    12. Each lane will be run for two minutes.
    13. Two and one half minutes between lane changes.
    14. Lane positions must be marked parallel in the new lane by lane cards.
    15. Lane positions will be marked behind the car before it is removed.
    16. Yellow flags will not be extended for any type of car repair.
    17. Drivers can not leave the panel unless to pull their car for repair.
    18. Drivers must make a track call to pull a poorly running car.
    19. Turn marshals can only straighten braids and unfolded bodies during yellow flags.
    20. A track call must be made before a car is pulled off the track for repairs.
    21. A track call can be used once per race to return a repaired car to the track.
    22. A repaired car being returned the second time can only be done during a yellow flag.
    23. Cars may not be removed from the track until the Race Director calls all clear.
    24. The car must finish with the original chassis and body.
    25. Any car can be inspected post race by the race director.
    26. Rules may be altered by the Race Director for special races or circumstances.

TRACK CALLS

    1. Track calls may be called by a turn marshal when more than two cars de-slot.
    2. Track calls may be called as soon as a car goes over the guard rales.
    3. Panel calls will be made when a car de-slots in front of the drivers panel.
    4. Rider calls should be made by anyone observing a car in the wrong lane.

General Racing Rules

SPECIFICATIONS UPDATED AUGUST 1, 2026 

  1. The Race Director will black flag a car presenting danger to other cars.
  2. The Race Director can disqualify a car for excessive black flags.

SIT OUTS

  1. Drivers will inital their white sticker before the race starts.
  2. Sit out cars must be returned to the tech area before a green flag.
  3. Participants in a sit out must perform turn marshal duties.
  4. Sit out drivers may only work on their cars during the two and one half minute break.
  5. Any driver not participating as a turn marshall will be docked five laps per occurence.
  6. The initalled  white lane sticker will be placed on the outside guard rail before the car is removed from the white lane/
  7. The white sticker must be removed from the guard rail after the car is placed on the red lane.

QUALIFYING

  1. At the Race Directors discretion, qualifying can be implemented.
  2. Qualifications will be timed for thirty seconds on the orange lane.

TURN MARSHALLING

  1. Turn marshals will be standing at their posts under green light.
  2. Turn marshals positions may be assigned by the Race Director.
  3. The dead man turn marshall must remain on their knees.
  4. Any exclusions from turn marshalling must be approved by the Race Director.

    Special Racing

    INSPECTIONS

    1. Any car may be inspected by the Race Director ant any time.
    2. The driver will remove the body for inspection.
    3. The Race Director can scope the motor and photo any parts.

    PROTESTS

    1. Protests must be called at the time of occurance with the stated issue.
    2. The race stops immediately after a protest.
    3. The body will be removed and inspected by the Race Director.
    4. The Race Director can scope the motor and photo any parts.
    5. If nothing is noted, the protestor will be docked five laps from their finish.
    6. The protestor has the right to purchase any motor by providing five new motors exactly like the protested motor.

    EXPANDED TECH

    1. At any time the race director can call for a body off tech.
    2. Bodies will be replaced by the driver in front of the Tech Director.
    3. The car can not leave the tech area.
    4. The Tech Director may mark or sticker the body or chassis.

    ILLEGAL MOTORS

    1. Anyone knowingly operating an altered sealed motor will be barred from racing for six months.
    2. The motor will become the property of Speedway.
    3. Their car body will be removed for tech for three months after returning to racing.

      Crash & Burn

      SPECIFICATIONS UPDATED AUGUST 1, 2026

      1. Drivers get a free reentry for a deslot between the starting line and the lap counter or, the first lap of the start of the race.
      2. Each time a driver deslots a one lap penalty will be accessed.
      3. Penalties apply even after a power off situation.
      4. Driver must remind race director of a power of deslot between lane changes during the first yellow as the next lane begins.
      5. “Track” calls must be made in a loud voice and timely.
      6. The Track Director will give warnings to a driver not making proper calls.
      7. A driver with two track call warnings will be docked 5 laps.
      8. Elimination on a third track call warning.
      9. Drivers leaving mid race must function as a rotating turn marshal.
      10. Rules for the current race may be modified by the Race Director.
